MCSSA VOLLEYBALL
Senior Volleyball has been an integral component of senior sports and MCSSA activities in particular.
There are no fixed teams. Ray Varieur, the Volleyball coordinator for MCSSA, does his best, along with all participants, to balance the teams, rotating all players in to give everyone an equal opportunity to play.
Currently, the senior group has over 50 active players and welcomes all new eligible players, ages 55+. There is an open invitation for all those interested to come out and join the fun.
Ray emphasizes that, although all are welcome, those interested should have some basic understanding of volleyball fundamentals, volleyball skills, have the ability to move on the court, and a willingness to work with others in a friendly and healthy team environment.
There are no charges imposed except by the Community Centers. The current fee paid by most is a Senior fee of $50 per year that includes the right to use exercise rooms as well as gyms. All Recreation Community Centers of Montgomery County are included for the one $50 yearly fee.
Senior Volleyball is available each weekday in Montgomery County.
